Challenged Athletes Foundation
I would really appreciate YOU in supporting me over 140 miles of swimming, cycling and running. Let's support Challenged Athletes!
My friends and I at CAF raise money to help people with physical disabilities pursue an active lifestyle through physical fitness and athletics.
I want to give those with the desire to live active, competitive lifestyles every opportunity to compete in the sports they love and get back to living their lives.
By making a donation to my goal of completing the ORIGINAL Ironman course first raced in 1978 by a bunch of hard-core lifeguards and watermen in Honolulu, who over a few beers began to debate whether or not swimmers, cyclists or runners were the most fit.
Ultimately they decided to swim the bay at Waikiki (2.4 miles), ride their bikes around the entire island of Oahu (112 miles) and then run the Honolulu Marathon Course (26.2 miles).
As many of you know and some may not, I spent the better part of the late 1980's and early 90's racing triathlons and actually had the opportunity to compete in the Ironman World Championships in Kona 1990.
Well, that was a long time ago and many years and many miles later, I have found that combining my passions for cancer research, global eco-awareness and empowerment has opened up a wonderful new philanthropic world where giving back is far more rewarding than simply toeing the starting line.
My fundraising goal will directly help a challenged athlete in need.
Prosthetics and associated therapy is astronomically expensive and many times insurance does not pay a dime for specialty devices which allows challenged athletes to get out and enjoy the activities just like you and I allowing the freedom to run, ski, golf, swim and live again.
If you've read this far, I would appreciate your throwing a buck or two into the pot and make a difference.
I don't care if you're putting $5 dollars or $50...
Every dollar helps and is very much needed and appreciated, so please take 30 seconds and help me get to my goal.
Plus, you'll get to see me beat the living crap out of my 45 year old body over 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of biking and finishing up with 26.2 miles of running.
That in itself is worth $10 bucks, right?
Of course I will send training and event day updates and photos.
Thank you for your donation!
All my best to you,
