Hawaii Revisited 2009

Welcome Donors,

The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) raises money to help people with physical disabilites pursue an active lifestyle through physical fitness and athletics. CAF’s mission is clear: give those with the desire to live active, competitive lifestyles every opportunity to compete in the sports they love.

To Make A Donation:

The Challenged Athletes Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. You can feel safe that your donation will directly assist challenged athletes around the world. Based on our most recent audited financial statement,
80 cents of every dollar raised is used by CAF to support its athletes.

Welcome Hawaii Revisited Fundraisers!

IT’S BACK!…BUT WITH A NEW NAME, AND NEW FUN!

GO BACK. GIVE BACK.

THE ORIGINAL HAWAII TRIATHLON ADVENTURE

TO BENEFIT THE CHALLENGED ATHLETES FOUNDATION

Join Bob Babbitt and Rick Kozlowski, both 1980 Hawaii Ironman Triathlon participants and Co-Founders of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), in a most excellent adventure in triathlon. On August 9, 2009 CAF will return to the birthplace of the original Hawaii Ironman Triathlon for the sixth year. Athletes will toe the line where the sport of Ironman was born, on the island of Oahu, and participate in this “old-school” exploit with family and friends as it was in 1978 – 1980.

Participate as an individual as history has it, or explore the course with your friends as a team (from three to six people), it’s up to you. Either way, your hand picked support crew (or teammates), will be your only aid across the course just as it was 20 years ago. It is a one of a kind experience in today’s world of triathlon, so don’t miss it in 2009.

The Legendary Course:

  • 2.4 mile Waikiki Rough Water Swim

  • 112 mile Around Oahu Bike

  • 26.2 mile Honolulu Marathon

 The New Fun!

To celebrate its new name, Hawaii Revisited has some new racing divisions and incentives.

“We’re excited to make this special event it a bit of a competition” says Hawaii Revisited Co-Creator Bob Babbitt. “It’s an open course, so folks have to be careful, but Rick and I are excited to give ‘newbies’, tri-clubs, collegiate and competitive triathletes a unique and still competitive experience with the addition of the divisions, and hope that CAF benefits from the new incentives.”

 New Divisions:

The divisions are broken into individual and relay categories and are ranked according to the top combined swim and run time. All individual division participants receive an official “hole-in-the-head” trophy for finishing, but special recognition will be given to the top male and top female finishers. Relay teams of three (only teams of three are eligible in the relay division competition) compete for the title of the top male, female, co-ed, 120 club (combined age) and clydesdale (combined weight of 600 lbs. or more) team. Relay teams are permitted to “tag-team” through each discipline, rather than limiting each of the three disciplines to only one person. Each team that finishes receives a World Championship size Hawaii Revisited medal.

 New Incentives:

Top fundraising recognition will be awarded to the top individual, the top tri-club team, the top collegiate team and the top team over-all. There will a special presentation for the top fundraisers, so think big and you or your team could earn top billing.
